artist’s note: “Moby Dick is one of many animals I've been sculpting over the past three years that I imagine have either lost their environment and are attempting to adapt of who have been fully hybridized and transformed in oder to survive. It's obviously a comment on environmental degradation but through humor, color and cartooning, I can deal with serious topics in a lighter way, drawing in the viewer with friendly elements then sneaking in the darker side. The work has been accurately referred to as magical realism.” - Jennifer M.
